This course is ideal for anyone wanting a hands-on approach to tackling mental health issues. It uses a practical, evidence-based Action Plan to equip people with the knowledge and skills to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, and to confidently provide the correct referral information and support to someone who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
Participants will learn how to assist adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis is resolves. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with personal experience of mental health problems and professionals.
